Hearts for Valentines Day!

We are making hearts for Valentine’s day!  These support fine motor development and creativity.

Supplies for our hearts for Valentine’s Day:

  • Pipe cleaners – large ones and small ones too!
  • Beads

Fine Motor Hearts with pipe cleaner and beads

I often will use the colossal sized pipe cleaners. I order them from Discount School Supplies, but the regular sized ones at Walmart work fine.

To make the Valentine’s hearts we twisted the pipe cleaners together and then shaped them into hearts:

Beads can be strung on the pipe cleaners and then shaped into a heart too.

We braided them as well…

Hearts for Valentines Day!

This activity is wonderful for fine motor development and creativity. It is a frugal way to decorate and have your child place the Valentine mark on your home! Magnets can be glued to the back or they can be placed on a string to create a bunting. I love that there are so many options.

Have fun!
